The Summer Crush® hydrangea is a brand new dwarf addition to the ® collection. With fabulous floral color ranging from deep pink to raspberry red to neon purple with blue highlights, Endless Summer knocked this spring 2019 addition out of the park. At a mere 18 to 36 inches at maturity Summer Crush® is perfect for pots or planting in small spaces. Endless Summer Summer Crush hydrangea is the first in the series that is recommended for full sun as well as part shade giving you even more flexibility in landscape placement.

For zones 8 and 9 we recommend some afternoon shade, but keeping the soil moist throughout your Summer Crush hydrangea’s life can keep in happy even in full sun in warm climates.

For zones 4 and 5 we recommend mulching well to protect your Summer Crush® hydrangea over its first winter. Extend a thick mound of mulch a few inches beyond the rootzone.

How to Care

Spring and fall are the best times to plant hydrangeas. Hydrangeas can be planted in winter in areas where the ground is digable and in summer with plenty of water.

The Endless Summer® Summer Crush® hydrangea enjoys full sun to part shade and moist, well-drained, fertile .

Keep the soil moist, but not saturated, especially in summer and in the first year after planting. Throughout its life this hydrangea will do best with a deep watering once weekly when it is hot and dry.

Applying mulch at about 2 inches deep is highly recommended for hydrangeas. Mulching will cut back on watering needs and protect your hydrangea plant in extreme temperatures.

Fertilize in spring with a for best results.

You don’t need to prune this hydrangea, but pruning after they are done blooming can help encourage a bushier growth and renew an older plant.

The best way to prevent disease and pests is by providing the appropriate care for your plants. Proper location choice, watering, and fertilization are the keys to success.
